Allie Fullah is back at Giants

Manchester Giants have confirmed that Allie Fullah has extended his contract for the 2020-21 BBL season, as the third player to return from last year’s squad alongside Jack Hudson and David Ulph.

The 6’7″ 31-year-old is a former Great Britain Youth International, and joined on transfer deadline day part-way through the last campaign.

He featured in five games and averaged an impressive 11 points, four rebounds and one block per outing, shooting 56% from the floor. His season best performance was 13 points and six rebounds against Sheffield Sharks.

After attending NCAA Division 1 Charleston Southern, Fullah has played in the BBL for London Lions, Surrey Scorchers and Leeds Force. His scoring productivity last season was a BBL career-high, and in 2017-18 he was the league’s second leading shot blocker.

More recently, Fullah enjoyed spells in the National Basketball League, posting 12 points and eight rebounds per game for Lancashire Spinners in Division One, and across two seasons with Bradford Dragons he averaged six points and six rebounds. He featured briefly for Calderdale Explorers before joining Giants last season, and averaged 18 points per outing for the Yorkshire side.

“Allie was an important addition at the end of last season as he brought a much greater balance to the team and gave us a different dimension to our interior threat,” said Head Coach Danny Byrne.

“He brings experience and consistency. Last season he scored between nine and thirteen points in each of the games he played, and he has always been one of the leading shot blockers in every league that he has played in, so we know exactly what to expect from such an experienced player when he is called upon this season.

“Allie completes a strong and varied frontcourt, with Breaon Brady, David Ulph and Lyle Hexom, meaning that we will always have a presence in the paint.”
