Bunyan returns to Rocks for 10th season

Glasgow Rocks have welcomed the return of long time Scottish guard, Jonny Bunyan for the 2020-21 Season.

The return will see Bunyan commit to his 10th season with the Rocks, having played over 230 games for the club.

“I am happy to have Jonny back with the Rocks,” said player-coach Gareth Murray. “This season he will take on a leadership role being one of the most experienced and oldest on the team at 28.

“I will be looking for him to lead by example while continuing to improve his overall game.”

Jonny Bunyan added, “I am looking forward to continuing my career at the Rocks. It will be a big challenge this year, entering my 10th season with the club. Right now I am looking forward to getting back to basketball as soon as possible.”

Owner Duncan Smillie showed happiness with Jonny suiting up for Glasgow again, adding, “It’s great news that Jonny is returning next season. In my opinion he’s one of the most important parts of the Rocks on and off the court.

“A go-to guy for making a shot and our unofficial captain, it’d be very easy not to appreciate JB and underestimate him as a player and as a leader. I am absolutely thrilled he’s back.”
