Manchester Giants have announced the return of Callum Jones.
After a season with the Sheffield Sharks, the Giant’s all-time record point scorer returns home looking to provide further experience to the Giants 2021-22 squad.
The former BBL All-Star British Team of the Year guard spent the 2020-21 season across the Pennines with Sheffield Sharks.
Jones has amassed a multitude of records over his eight years with the Giants from 2012-13 to 2019-20.
In his eight seasons in Manchester he played a total of 213 games and averaged a total of 12 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and scored 53.6% of his field goals.
“I’m obviously very happy to be back playing at Giants and grateful for the opportunity to do so from Lloyd and Jamie,” said Jones
“I look forward to contributing however I can. The ability and character of this team is really exciting and everyone is ready to show that on the court for the Giants fans and to make this a big season.”
Coach Lloyd Gardner added, “Callum is a fantastic character signing for us. It’s not often you are able to bring in somebody with the experience that Callum has in this league and we know he will be able to come in and contribute for us.
“Jones’s relationship with a core group of our players has made the addition even easier and I know that all the staff and players are happy to have him back in a Giants jersey as will many of the fans.”
Giants are preparing for the first game against Cheshire on Sunday 26th in Ellesmere Port with the first home game against Newcastle Eagles at National Basketball Performance Centre, Belle Vue, on October 3rd.
